MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- After three days of play at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Northwestern junior Tobias Reitz was named the men's singles champion after defeating Marquette's Jose Manuel Munoz (6-4, 6-2) to complete an unbeaten weekend. Freshman Raleigh Smith, who also was undefeated in three matches, earned runner-up honors after beating MU's Dan Marmalat, 6-3, 6-2.
Andrew McCarthy also ended his weekend on a winning note by knocking off the Golden Eagles' Otavio Perim in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7). Sophomore Chris Jackman lost a hard-fought match to Thibault Troude, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9).
Smith and Jackman, high school teammates at Gulliver Prep in Miami, wrapped up a successful first weekend as college teammates by being named the doubles runners-up following victories on Friday and Saturday.

Northwestern's fall schedule continues next week with a trip to the UVA Invitational hosted by Virginia, which begins Friday, Sept. 24.
