Junior Tobias Reitz picked up a win in a super tiebreak third set, coming back from a slow first set to defeat Wisconsin's Ricardo Martin, 0-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6).
Later in the day, Smith and Jackman teamed up to win 8-5 in a doubles test against Marquette's Otavio Perim and Jose Carlos Gutierrez Crowley, while Reitz and Andrew McCarthy bested Jonathan Schwerin and Dan Marmalat, 8-2.
