EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head volleyball coach Keylor Chan today announced the addition of outside hitter Christina Kaelin to the Wildcat roster for the 2010 season. Kaelin, a 2010 graduate of Notre Dame, will play for Northwestern during the 2010 campaign as she pursues a graduate degree.
"We are truly excited about Christina joining our program," said Chan. "Christina is an exceptional student-athlete that has a proven track record of success. Coming out of high school Christina was one of the most sought after recruits in the nation and we feel very fortunate that she will be finishing her collegiate career at Northwestern. We welcome Christina to the Northwestern volleyball family and look forward to her helping us achieve our goal of returning to the NCAA Tournament in 2010."
Kaelin was a two-time All-Big East selection while earning honorable mention All-America honors in 2008 following her junior season. She recording 367 kills and 3.25 kills per set with a .258 hitting percentage and 35 blocks. An Irish team captain her senior year, Kaelin finished her career in South Bend with 982 kills and a .232 hitting percentage while averaging 3.30 kills per set to go along with 88 total blocks.
