Preseason Publications Provide Props For 'Cats

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The time has come for preseason football magazines to put forth their predictions and list of awards for the 2010 season. As they are announced, we will aggregate those honors afforded to Northwestern in the space below.
PHIL STEELE
Senior Stefan Demos earned first-team preseason All-Big Ten place-kicker honors from Phil Steele to headline a group of nine Wildcats named to one of the publication's four teams.
Offensively, superback Drake Dunsmore (second team), offensive tackle Al Netter (third team) and center Ben Burkett (fourth team) earned inclusion. On defense, linebacker Quentin Davie (second team), cornerback Jordan Mabin (third team), safety David Arnold (third team), defensive end Vince Browne (fourth team) and linebacker Nate Williams (fourth team) all were chosen.

Athlon Sports features Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa on its Big Ten Preview cover.
Seven Wildcats earned preseason All-Big Ten honors from Athlon. Superback Drake Dunsmore, offensive lineman Al Netter, linebacker Quentin Davie and kicker Stefan Demos were tabbed to the second team, while defensive lineman Vince Browne, cornerback Jordan Mabin and safety Brian Peters garnered third-team honors.
BLUE RIBBON YEARBOOKS
Blue Ribbon Yearbooks placed a pair of Wildcats on its All-Big Ten first teams, giving superback Drake Dunsmore the nod on offense while Stefan Demos is the publication's first-team choice at kicker.
