Marcotullio Earns Spot on Great Britain U-20 Roster

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern rising sophomore Alex Marcotullio (Warren, Mich./De La Salle) has earned a spot on the Great Britain Standard Life U20 men's basketball roster based on his performance at the team's training camp.
Marcotullio was one of approximately 23 individuals who were invited to try out for the team and then claimed a spot on the team's 13-player roster for the European Championships which will be held later this summer.
The squad has played a pair of warm-up games against Scotland's under-23 team as well as the under-20 team from Finland. Great Britain begins group play for the European Championships July 14 against Denmark in Gussing, Oberwart, Austria.
Marcotullio appeared in all 34 of Northwestern's games during the 2009-10 season as a true freshman. He averaged 4.8 points and 14 minutes per game while ranking 15th in the Big Ten with a .369 3-point field goal percentage.
