Spring Scrimmage Activities Set for Saturday, April 24

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern is getting ready for the 2010 football season and fans can too by grabbing family and friends to attend the Wildcats' annual Spring Scrimmage on Saturday, April 24 at Ryan Field. Parking and admission are free.
The east and west stadium lots will be open for all fans at 8 a.m. Ryan Field and Randy Walker Terrace will open at 11 a.m. The scrimmage will take place on Ryan Field at noon unless there is lightning in the area. (Click here for the radar map).
Director of Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips and Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald are scheduled to address the crowd around 11:15 a.m. on Walker Terrace, and kids in eighth grade-and-under may be allowed on the field to "Stretch with the `Cats" at 11:45 a.m. Both of these pre-scrimmage activities will depend on the weather with a final decision to be made at 11 a.m.
During the scrimmage, all fans are encouraged to move around the stadium to check out the view from different seat locations. Ticket representatives will be stationed near large purple flags in various sections throughout the stadium to offer suggestions on seat availability and information on the variety of pricing options.
Approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the scrimmage, fans will be allowed back onto the field for an autograph session with players and coaches, weather permitting.

SPRING GAME FAMILY ACTIVITIES
8 a.m. -- Tailgating Lots Open -- It's been months since fans have tailgated at Ryan Field so invite your family and friends for this chance to have a Wildcat Reunion in the east and west parking lots. No passes are required. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis!
11 a.m. -- Walker Terrace Opens
Band Performance -- The NU Band will be performing your favorite songs on Walker Terrace and will continue to perform in the stands throughout the scrimmage.
Athletic Director Jim Phillips -- Get the inside scoop on Northwestern Athletics when he talks to fans on Walker Terrace. If you have a question for Dr. Phillips, send it to wildcatmarketing@northwestern.edu before Wednesday, April 21 for a chance to have your question answered before the scrimmage.

11:45 a.m. -- Stretch with the 'Cats -- All kids in eighth grade-and-under can go on the field to STRETCH with the Wildcat Football Team! The first 1,000 kids will receive the official "Stretch With the 'Cats" wristband. (Please hold all autographs until after the scrimmage.)
Noon -- Wildcat Football Spring Scrimmage -- Fans are encouraged to move around the stadium and check out the view from various seat locations. Talk to ticket representatives about seat availability and prices.
Postgame -- Go on the field to take pictures and get autographs from the Wildcat Football team!

NGN AUCTION
Join the Wildcat Football Family for the 17th Annual Northwestern Gridiron Network (NGN) Dinner and Auction at 5:30 p.m. The live auction gets underway at 8:15 p.m. with Pat Fitzgerald, Shon Morris, Chris Martin of the Big Ten Network and Ted Albrecht of WGN serving as auction hosts. Hundreds of items are donated for the auction. Tickets for the event ($125 per person) can be purchased by calling Jean Yale at 847.491.3694 or by e-mailing Jean at j-yale@northwestern.edu.
