EVANSTON, Ill. -- After being forced indoors for its first full-pad spring practice on Saturday, the Wildcats were greeted with a spectacular weather day on Monday as Northwestern conducted a 20-period practice outdoors on its FieldTurf facility.

Monday's practice featured numerous team periods, with the first- second-string offensive units going against their respective defensive unit. The defense held the upper hand early on but the offense came to life in the latter periods, with its running backs sparking the revival. Sophomore Arby Fields (Alta Loma, Calif./Los Osos), who is one of two Wildcat players juggling baseball and football this spring, broke off a long run and also made several catches, including a highlight-reel one-handed grab near the sideline.

Today's "10 Questions With ..." interview is with redshirt freshman superback John Plasencia (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Jesuit). Plasencia, who is earning additional playing time this spring while starter Drake Dunsmore is sidelined due to injury, is trying to move up the Wildcats' depth chart at that position. Find out what Plasencia had to say about the superback position, as well as his hometown experience in this past year's Outback Bowl in this NUsports.com interview.

PRACTICE NOTES:
• With the completion of today's practice, the Wildcats are already one-third of the way through spring practice. Northwestern has 10 practices remaining, which includes the annual spring scrimmage on April 24.
• The Wildcats will be in "shells" -- helmets and shoulder pads -- for Tuesday's 8:15 a.m. practice.
• The final recap of NFL scouts and executives who visited Northwestern to scout various Wildcat players this past year: NU hosted 104 NFL scouts and executives, along with 15 coaches, during the 2009 season for 190 total visits. Included in that total was seven general managers. All 32 NFL teams were represented. In the weeks leading up to NU's Pro Timing Day, the Wildcats hosted 85 scouts/executives for a total of 124 visits. The NFL's annual Draft will be held April 22-24.
