On tonight's game:
In the first half we were scoring, they were scoring, I don't think either team played particularly well defensively. In the second half, they just really wiped us out and we could not get anything going. They were guarding us real hard and we were absolutely unable to stop them. They were penetrating on defense and someone said they shot 80 % on the second half. That pretty much tells the whole story. We didn't run our offense the way we have been and we were unable to stop them. They just did a real nice job.
On defensive woes:
We have been struggling with our defense pretty much the whole year. When we play the 1-3-1 and it is very effective for us, but we have known all along that we cannot play it for 35 minutes. We have been really working on our matchups. Like a 2-3 match-up , but it has not been effective. I would not question the effort. I would give St. John's credit and know that we have to go to work and figure out what we have to do defensively. so that we can stop some of these teams.
