Northwestern Announces 2011 and 2012 Football Schedules

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern University has finalized its 2011 and 2012 football schedules, along with its Homecoming and Family Weekend dates for both seasons.
The Wildcats' 2011 schedule now is set after Northwestern's originally scheduled Nov. 26 nonconference game with Rice was moved to Saturday, Nov. 12, in Evanston. The Wildcats will have an open date on Saturday, Sept. 24. These moves became necessary after the Big Ten Conference announced its new schedule, which accommodates the addition of Nebraska, in August.
Homecoming in 2011 is slated for Oct. 22 when the Wildcats take on Penn State. Family Weekend will move to Nov. 12 when NU plays host to Rice. Northwestern will open the 2011 season at Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 3, before opening its home season against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 10. Northwestern also will play at Army on Saturday, Sept. 17. NU begins Big Ten play on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Illinois.

A Northwestern ticket representative will contact you at a later date to complete your season ticket purchase. While fans on this list will have guaranteed access to season tickets for the 2011 season, priority seating will be provided to existing season ticket holders. For questions regarding 2011 season tickets, call the ticket office at 1-888-GO-PURPLE (467-8775).
In 2012, Nebraska will make its first visit to Evanston on Saturday, Oct. 20, when NU will hold its annual Family Weekend. The following Saturday, on Oct. 27, the Wildcats host Iowa for Homecoming.
