Prior to football's night game against Purdue, the 2011 `Cats took on the alumni in a 5 inning game of mush ball-softball. The alumni had a tailgate on the field while the current `Cats got dressed and ready for the game. We thought, in the spirit of the alumni, we would sport some retro uniforms, circa 2000. Alum and current pitching coach Courtnay Foster rocked the same uniform in 2002-it's final appearance. But even high-waisted shorts and button down polyester jerseys couldn't help us win. It was clear from the start that the `Cats from the past had a little more experience under their belts. They came out strong with a 2-run lead and the `Cats just could not make a comeback. Despite our loss, we had an incredible time. Overall the weekend was a blast. We had an amazing time getting to know the alumni, hearing their stories and sharing our own about NUSB. The `Cats hope to make this an annual event and take on the alums next year in a rematch!
