ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) continued her impressive start as a Wildcat, shooting a 5-under 68 over the final 18 holes of the Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational to help lead Northwestern to a seventh-place finish. The Wildcats crack 300 for the third-straight round, finishing with a 12-over 888 (297-294-297).

Weaver, playing in just her second collegiate tournament, had just six bogeys all weekend while tallying an eagle on the par-five 10th hole in round three. Entering the day tied for 18th, her 5-under 68 was tied for the top overall score of the day, and is tied for the second-lowest round in Northwestern history. She finished at 4-under 215 (75-72-68) for the weekend, becoming just the fourth player in program history to finish a 54-hole tournament under par.

Sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) continued her solid play early in the fall season, posting a 1-over 74 to finish at even-par 219 (71-74-74) and in a tie for 13th. Junior Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) posted a 2-over 75 to finish with a 7-over 226 (76-75-75) and in a tie for 35th-place.

Sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) and junior Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) rounded out the Wildcat scorecared. Fuller posted a 9-over 228 (75-73-80) while Lederhausen finished with a 20-over 239 (77-80-82).

Facing one of its toughest fields of the season, Northwestern held its own, defeating a handful of teams ranked in the Golfweek top-50. The Wildcats finished six shots better than Big Ten rival Indiana (18-over 894) and just one stroke back of UC Davis (11-over 887) in sixth-place.

Seventh-ranked Pepperdine took the team title, finishing at 17-under 859, defeating host New Mexico (10-under 869) by seven strokes. UNLV and TCU, who will both be competing at the Wildcat Classic in two weeks, tied for third with a 7-over 883 with Oregon (9-over 85) rounding out the top five.

Up next for Northwestern is a short trip to Madison, Wis., for the annual Lady Northern on Sunday, Sept. 27, and Monday, Sept. 28. That tournament will be followed by the Windy City Collegiate Championships on Oct. 5 and 6 at the Glen Club in Glenview.
