MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Sophomore Eric Spector won second place at the Milwaukee Tennis Class (MTC) for the second consecutive year as Northwestern finished competition at both the MTC and Olympia Fields Invitational Sunday afternoon. In the final day of competition, Spector matched his 2008 runner-up result by topping Marquette's Jose Carlos Gutierrez Crowley, 6-2, 6-2. Andrew McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill), Sidarth Balaji (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and Wolf also notched their second wins of the weekend in singles play against Marquette.
In morning doubles play against Ball State, Sanborn and Wolf defeated Ball State's Eduardo Pavia and Dalton Albertin, 8-3, for their second win of the weekend.
At the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Invitational, sophomore Joshua Graves (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet) notched his first win, coming from a set down to defeat Notre Dame's Takashi Yoshii's 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
