Northwestern Volleyball Season Tickets Now on Sale

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Season tickets for the 2009 Northwestern Volleyball season are now on sale. Season ticket holders can secure their seat to watch the Wildcats compete with a challenging 13-game 2009 home schedule, facing six teams that finished in the top-25 and 11 NCAA tournament participants. Fans can now purchase their season tickets online by clicking the link above or calling 847-491-CATS.

Adults can purchase season tickets to volleyball for just $35, a 60% savings off regularly priced tickets. Youth (age 18 and under) can purchase season tickets to volleyball for just $20, saving you over $30 off regularly priced tickets. Northwestern also offers a Season Ticket Family Plan, which includes 2 adults and 3 youth to every regular season match for just $70, a savings of $268!

"The 2009 volleyball season is weeks away and we are truly looking forward to a great year," said Coach Keylor Chan. "In seasons past, the support of our fans at our home matches have lead our team to some great victories over the years. We look to continue that trend this season."

The 2009 season offers a tough schedule for the `Cats. The `Cats open with the 28th annual Wildcat Classic, facing Akron on Friday, Sept. 18. Saturday pits Northwestern against a pair of NCAA tournament foes, as the Wildcats host Long Island and Cincinnati. The 2009 Big Ten schedule opens with a bang, as Northwestern hosts two-time defending national champion Penn State in the conference opener on Sept. 25. Ohio State then makes its annual trip to Evanston on Sept. 26.

The Wildcats host Purdue on Oct. 10. The Boilermakers finished 2008 ranked 17th with a 24-8 record and advanced to the round of 16. Indiana then visits Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday, Oct. 11. On Oct. 17, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who finished 10th nationally at 26-6, travel to Evanston to take on the `Cats. The Wildcats will then host Michigan State on Nov. 6. The Wildcats have won three of the last four against MSU in Evanston. Michigan, who also advanced to the round of 16 after a 24-8 2008 campaign, takes on NU Nov. 7.

Northwestern returns to Welsh-Ryan Arena for the final three home matches of the season, beginning with Wisconsin on Nov. 20 and then Iowa on Nov. 21. The Wildcats close out the home slate hosting rival Illinois on Wednesday, Nov. 25, as the Illini ended 2008 ranked 14th following a 24-7 campaign and becoming the fourth Big Ten team to advance to the NCAA's round of 16.

Season long promotions this season will include Friday Night Bingo and serving contests at every match. On October 17, the `Cats face Minnesota and following the match, girls in the 8th grade and under are invited to the 2nd annual Campout with the Cats. At the event, guests will spend the night with the volleyball team, where they can participate in a volleyball clinic, eat pizza with the team, play games and stay up late to watch a movie.
