Meet The Team Night is Friday, August 28!

EVANSTON, Ill. -- As kids get ready to head back to school, make sure they have something fun to tell their classmates when the teacher asks, "What did you do this summer?" Bring the whole family out to Ryan Field for the Wildcats' Meet the Team Night on Friday, August 28 at 6 p.m. to hang out with the Wildcat Football team -- playing catch, kicking field goals, taking pictures and much more!
Fans also will get the inside scoop on the 'Cats from head coach Pat Fitzgerald who will address the crowd on Walker Terrace during this free event. E-mail your questions to wildcatmarketing@northwestern.edu for a chance to have them answered live by Coach Fitzgerald on August 28th. All fans whose questions are selected will receive the official , so be sure to include your t-shirt size with your question.
Meet the Team Night also will host the first-ever Wildcat Throwback event sponsored by Pepsi, which means fans who bring any recyclable cans or bottles can purchase tickets to either the September 5 or September 12 games for only $10. As you are gathering your cans this summer, be on the lookout for the limited edition Pepsi cans featuring the Wildcats, which hit the shelves on July 1 in the Chicagoland area.
"Pepsi has been an incredible supporter of the Wildcats for more than a decade," said Tracie Hitz, Associate Athletic Director for Sales & Marketing. "We are grateful for additional opportunities to build on this partnership that allows us to pass along ticket discounts to our fans."
Another great supporter of the 'Cats is Goose Island, which will be served in our complimentary beer garden on Walker Terrace for Meet the Team Night. The Goose Island Beer Garden is also a staple in the pregame fan fest, Wildcat Alley, before every home game.
Meet the Team Night gets the team and the fans excited for the season, so show us you are ready for the home opener on September 5 by picking up your free 2009 Wildcat Football yard sign on August 28 to display proudly in your yard all year long.
"We love the support of our loyal Wildcat fans," Fitzgerald said. "Any type of visible support, whether it is yard signs, NU flags, car stickers, etc., is a great way to show your support and motivate our football program."
Young Wildcat fans who put in the work at school are being rewarded by Coach Fitz and the Wildcats this season with new programs like Wildcats 3.0 and Purrfect Attendance, as well as the Bound for Success Reading Program that is now in its second year.
In addition to these opportunities to earn free tickets, the Wildcats have several special ticket discounts for all fans, including North Shore Community Day, Heroes' Day, Scout Day, Youth Football Day and more. Whether you win, earn or buy your football tickets this season, be sure to arrive early to enjoy the free pregame fan fest area, Wildcat Alley, which features games, face painting, food, the Marching Band, cheerleaders, Willie the Wildcat, the free Goose Island Beer Garden and much more.
