Evening 'Cat fans!
So it is about 9:30 and we just got to our hotel in West Lafayette. Today we practiced in the beautiful weather, watched our boys baseball team beat Iowa, and then ate before bussing down here for our games against Purdue this weekend!!!
The past week has seemed kind of hectic to me. We played a double header Wednesday and then another game Thursday.
On Wednesday we played Iowa and came away with two good wins. The games were pretty slow, but our offense wasn't....Monka crushed the ball as usual and even hit a Grand Slam!!!! Everyone hit great, and I thought the Little Guy (Erin) did a great job working behind the plate! Great job little buddy....keep it up!!! Although they were slower games, the team played great together and we had some fun in the dugout throughout the games. Of course, we went home and watched ourselves once again when the Big Ten Network replayed the games. I yelled at myself a couple of times, while we laughed at each other for other little things the camera caught us doing.
Yesterday at Loyola the team came out great. The sunny weather and awesome performance by Jessica Smith put me in a great mood!!! The team got ahead and played great defense to make it a short hour and a half game! I would just like to say that Boots (Jessica) was throwing filthy pitches and I was thrilled with the 1, 2, 3, innings. Loyola is always a speedy team that makes us work, so it was good to come away with a shutout from Boots.
So I guess that's all I have to say about these past two days. The Purple Auction will take place in about two weeks and I am looking forward to it. The food, the free pop, awesome baskets and possessions to bid on and gain, the food.....it is all very fun. Don't be shy, come on out, get to know the `Cats, give us all your money....haha I'm just kidding, unless you want to.... But seriously, it is a great time for our Purple family to come together, celebrate our seniors, and have some fun in the process.
Well I better go to sleep. Can't wait to see some fans at the game tomorrow! Catch us on game tracker if you can't!!! I hope my little dot makes some sweet plays tomorrow for you guys!
