It's getting to be that time of the quarter that if you're not careful you can get behind really quick. The readings continue to pile up for my classes and the quizzes, papers and tests are right around the corner. I had my first quiz of the quarter today, which I spent a good deal of time studying for over the weekend and it went well. The quarter system here is a blessing and a curse at the same time. I like how you can take more courses throughout the year as opposed to a semester school, and it definitely helps with staying on pace to graduate. However, the downsides are that your summer is only six weeks long, which makes it hard to get back home to the great state of Oklahoma to see the family. Also with quarters, everything seems to go at lightning speed, which is the same speed that Jeravin Matthews runs at if you've ever seen him run with the ball. All that to say that it makes life go by fast and keeps you super busy.
The last two practices have been much improved since the scrimmage last Saturday, especially the offense. We had more focus these past two practices and came out and executed the offense more efficiently. I've had my plate full learning a new wide receiver spot this spring, but one thing that has helped me improve is going against Sherrick (McManis) and (Jordan) Mabin everyday. These guys are awesome corners. What I love about Sherrick is how much he loves to compete, he certainly gives me a challenge everyday whether it's blocking him in the run game or running routes on him. If I beat him on a route he turns right around and is determined to shut me down on the next play and vice versa. That's what makes this team so special ... we have a bunch of guys that love the game and love to compete with one another. I like where this new team is headed. The defense is looking solid and the offense is improving each day. The Spring Game is going to be a good one, so I'll see you there. Stick around after the scrimmage and say hey. Back to the books, have a blessed day!
