EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University senior guard Craig Moore has accepted an invitation to participate in the 21st Annual College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships to be held Thursday, April 2 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in conjunction with the Final Four.

Moore will be joined in the three-point competition by Creighton's Booker Woodfox, Oakland Erik Kangas, Rhode Island's Jimmy Baron and Grinnell's John Grotberg. Three other participants will be added at a later date.

The event will air on same-day tape delay on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. CT. In addition to the slam dunk contest and men's three-point competition, there will also be a women's shootout with the male and female winners eventually squaring off.

Moore, who ranks fourth in Big Ten history with 315 three-pointers, has hit a Northwestern-record 105 triples this season after establishing the previous mark with 97 a year ago. He paces the Big Ten and ranks eighth nationally with an average of 3.5 makes from beyond the arc per game.

Should Northwestern advance to the championship game of the National Invitation Tournament scheduled for that same evening, Moore would be replaced in the shootout.

The Wildcats open NIT play at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tulsa. ESPNU is televising the game live.
