Hey Cats!
It's Thursday night and we are currently in Palm Springs, Calif.!!! It's going to be 70's and 80's all weekend! In my last blog about this past weekend, I forgot to mention our freshmen's new nicknames. One of our freshmen, Adrienne Monka's mom calls her "Love". Probably the cutest thing ever, and we all caught on to it and decided we would also call her this. I'm pretty sure she's totally embarrassed by it, but she's a good sport and humors us older kids. Keeping with this trend, we decided to nickname our other two freshmen Olivia Zolke, "Sugar" and Megan Lilley, "Pumpkin". So, if any of you see them around, feel free to use these terms of endearment as I'm sure they will be getting used to it! It may or may not have been one of the funniest bus rides back to the stadium yet.
This week was another week full of more preparations for the weekend. Last Monday, we had the day off as usual and got some much needed rest after a long weekend. The softball house (where Kelly and I live) got to catch up on all our episodes of The Bachelor (Go Melissa!), One Tree Hill, and Grey's which is always a very important part of our week. We started practice back up again on Tuesday where we got a lot of good work in, focusing on our mentality in the batter's box as well as some defensive plays. On Wednesday, we were surprised with a new "Championship circuit". It involved much more running and cardio work, and Kate decided it would be called Phase II of the "Championship Circuit". It was definitely a lot tougher, but was a great work out for the team going into the weekend. Our trip to the airport today was fun because we were followed by our Baseball team. It is their first weekend out as a team to play ball. Get after it Cats, Good luck!!! We're excited for the weekend, and will give you an update as it plays out!
Also, I wanted to give a shout out to the BEST coach/chap stick holder in the world....
