EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has accepted a bid to the 2010 Outback Bowl to face Auburn. Watch the announcement news conference live tonight at 7 p.m. CT!

The news conference will feature Northwestern Director of Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips and football coach Pat Fitzgerald. They will discuss the 2010 Outback Bowl where Northwestern will face Auburn at 10 a.m. CT Friday, Jan. 1, on ESPN. The bowl trip will be Northwestern's fifth of the decade and its second in a row.
Northwestern finished the 2009 regular season with a record of 8-4 and has posted back-to-back eight win seasons for the first time since 1995-96.
Coach Fitzgerald will also be featured Sunday on the Big Ten Network's Bowl Announcement Special, which begins at 8 p.m. CT.
