Blog Entry #1
December 14

Season's greetings Wildcat nation from your favorite defensive tackle. (I humbly accept this title.) The first thing I want to do in my Outback Bowl blog is ask for your prayers and well wishes to D-Line coach Marty Long and his family. Coach Long is going through a tough time and we just ask everyone for his or her support and for his recovery.

Even without our fearless leader, the d-line is doing well in practice under the all-seeing eyes of coach Hank. The practices earlier in the month were focused more on getting reps to the younger guys in order to bring their development along. Yesterdays practice is the first real time we started running our plays against the Auburn offense and defense. With our film study we're starting to unearth the iceberg that is the Auburn Tigers.

Unfortunately, we didn't have practice today and spent our morning working on our beach bodies for Tampa and watching film in meetings. Of course, in our meeting Corey Wootton aka Pumpkin Patch almost ruined it because he is technically challenged and kept putting on the wrong cut-ups to the dismay of the entire room. Eventually we headed over to the weight room and started our lift. Towards the end of the lift I headed over to the mirror to see the fruits of my labors and check out how jacked and tan I am when all of a sudden nasty Nate Williams walks over to me. He asks if I want to go to the movies and I agree since the only other thing I would be doing, which is playing Modern Warfare 2 with Kid Dugi (Demetrius Dugar), Coop (Cooper Gerami), or Scott Cutcannon, has been ruined due to the fact my Xbox has acquired the "dreaded red rings of death." After we shower and get fresh for all of the ladies me, little Niko (Niko Mafuli), Q. "I can't think of nickname for him" Williams, Dan "Strawberry Shortcake" Persa, Smokin' Joe Mauro, and Brian "The Ballet Dancer" Peters head over to the local Evanston Cinema to watch the movie Brothers. We all seemed to agree that it was a pretty good movie but it needed just a little more umph to be a great movie.

Over the next couple of weeks we'll be strapping it up for real in practice in order to get ready for Auburn and I'll be bringing you all of the juicy details and giving you a little insight into our lives. I'm excited that for some reason our SIDs thought that it would be a good idea for me to have this freedom of expression and I want to thank the Purple Nation for reading this blog and I hope to see everyone at the Outback Bowl!

Go Purple Gang!
