EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Ticket Office announced today some reminders for fans who wish to make ticket purchases for the upcoming Outback Bowl, which is slated for Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 in Tampa, Fla. The reminders are:

• Today (Dec. 14) is the deadline for season ticket holders to be seated according to priority points with their ticket purchase.
• The last day to purchase and pick up tickets in-person at the Athletic Ticket Office is Wednesday, Dec. 23.
• Tickets can be purchased via phone (847-491-CATS), in-person and at NUsports.com until noon (CST) on Thursday, Dec. 31 or until our allotment is sold out.
• Tickets purchased after Monday, Dec. 21 will be held at will call in Northwestern's Athletic Ticket Office, and after Wednesday, Dec. 23 must be picked up in Tampa. (Information on hours and location will be announced at a later date.)

"Again, we encourage fans to purchase tickets through Northwestern's ticket office," says Jim Phillips, NU's director of athletics. "Sales are going very well, and we need to maintain the pace. We have sold nearly twice as many tickets as we had at this time last year (for the Valero Alamo Bowl).

"The early signs are encouraging: we sold our allotment of 1,000 club seats and our Alumni Association Tour travel package sold out in just days. This is going to be a terrific bowl experience for our fans."

Northwestern's Alumni Association still has tickets remaining for its Tailgate Party.

Northwestern's ticket office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each business day from now until Wednesday, Dec. 23.
