Weaver shot a 3-over 75 on the day, posting an 8-over 224 (74-75-75) for the tournament and finishing in a tie for 17th-place individually. Sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) had a solid tournament as well for Northwestern, finishing at 10-over 226 (73-74-79) and in a tie for 28th-place overall for her fourth top-30 finish of the season.
Junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) posted a 5-over 77 over the final 18 holes, placing third on the Wildcat scorecard with a 14-over 230 (76-77-77). Sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) and junior Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) rounded out the Northwestern scorecard, with Lederhausen finishing at 17-over 233 (76-78-79) and Tantanavivat posting a 22-over 238 (76-82-80).
Northwestern began the day in 11th place, but slipped back to 13th, finishing just a stroke back of both Colorado State and Texas Tech in 11th and two shots back of 10th-place UNLV, who served as the host of the tournament. Arizona captured the team title with a 14-over 878, defeating Florida (19-over 883) by five strokes and third-place Louisville (22-over 886) by eight shots. UC Davis (25-over 889) and Arkansas (32-over 896) rounded out the top five.
The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown caps a successful fall season for head coach Emily Fletcher's squad, accomplishing the goal of a strong start after just missing last year's NCAA tournament. The Wildcats tied a program record by notching 10 sub-300 rounds, posted a team scoring average of 298.67 and finished in the top-10 in four of its five fall tournaments, including three fourth-places finishes.
The Wildcats will now take a three-month hiatus to prepare for the spring portion of their 2009-10 schedule, which resumes in sunny Puerto Rico in February. Northwestern returns to the links Feb. 7-9, 2010, competing at the Lady Puerto Rico in Rio Grande, P.R.
