Northwestern Hosts 2008 Spring Tournament Saturday

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern will host its 2008 Spring Volleyball Tournament Saturday, April 12, at Welsh-Ryan Arena. A handful of area schools will be participating, including Bradley, Illinois State, Northern Illinois and Illinois-Chicago.
The tournament will be broken up into a morning and afternoon session, with morning matches consisting of two games to 25 points, while the afternoon sessions will be three-25 point games. The 'Cats open up the tournament at 9 a.m. against UIC, and will close out the day with a 2:30 p.m. match against Northern Illinois. The schedule for the tournament is as follows:
Morning Session
9 a.m.
Northwestern vs. Illinois-Chicago (Court 1)
10 a.m.
Northwestern vs. Bradley (Court 1)
Illinois State vs. Northern Illinois (Court 2)
11 a.m.
Illinois-Chicago vs. Illinois State (Court 1)
Northern Illinois vs. Bradley (Court 2)
Afternoon Session
1 p.m.
Northwestern vs. Illinois State (Court 1)
Illinois-Chicago vs. Bradley (Court 2)
2:30 p.m.
Northwestern vs. Northern Illinois (Court 1)
Following this weekend's tournament, the Wildcats will wrap up their spring schedule by participating in the Great Lakes Center Tournament in Aurora, Ill., on April 19, then travel to Cincinnati for a tournament on April 26. Northwestern finished the 2007 season at 18-13 overall and 9-11 in the Big Ten.
