EVANSTON, Ill. -- If you're a supporter of Northwestern University, and in particular its football program, you don't want to miss out on the annual Northwestern Gridiron Network (NGN) Dinner and Auction, set for Saturday, April 26 in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The auction, which is in its 15th year, is the primary fund-raiser for the NGN, Northwestern's football booster organization.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction, along with an open bar and buffet dinner. At 8:15 p.m., the live auction gets underway with NU coach Pat Fitzgerald, WGN radio sports director Dave Eanet and WGN radio analyst Ted Albrecht serving as auction hosts.
Hundreds of items are donated for the auction, including some specialty items for 2008: an authentic Masters green jacket, signed by 25 former champions; a Pulp Fiction montage signed by John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Harvey Keiter and Uma Thurman; a Brett Favre-autographed jersey; and a Hannah Montana-signed photograph.
Tickets for the event ($125 per person) can be purchased by calling Jean Yale at 847-491-3694 or email at j-yale@northwestern.edu.
