EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern is holding an inaugural "Walk for Randy" 5K Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26, three hours prior to the start of the annual Spring Football Game. The Walk is being conducted to honor the memory of former NU football coach Randy Walker, who died on June 29, 2006.

The cost to participate in the Walk is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event. Proceeds from the Walk go to the Randy Walker Memorial Scholarship fund. An online registration form can be found here.

The start and finish line is at the corner of Walker Way (next to the NU Nicolet Football Center and Ryan Field) and Ashland Avenue. Seniors from the class of 2008 will be participating in the Walk and former NU great Mike Adamle will serve as the Walk's Grand Marshal.

All participants will receive a "Walk with Us" t-shirt, and refreshments will be provided by Gatorade and Pepsi. The Walk will be held, rain or shine.
