Blog #15 December 25, 2008

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone! Right now, I just got back from Christmas lunch with the team. They served turkey, ham, mac and cheese, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and delicious chocolate cake. All the coaches and staff sat with their families, while the players sat with their position group. Except for Al Netter that is, he was the last O-lineman to get to lunch so he had to sit with the defensive backs. Half way through lunch, Santa and his wife Mrs. Clause came and graced us with their presence. The little kids loved it. At the table were I ate, we once again played the movie game. In fact, every restaurant I have eaten at in San Antonio has consisted of us playing the movie game.

Right now I am in Jeff Radek's and Nick Adamle's room typing this blog because I don't have a laptop. Their room is disgustingly dirty. Their clothes are all over the place and there is food everywhere. I find it hard to believe that their hotel room can be this dirty already considering the fact that we have only been here four days and that the room was cleaned yesterday morning. But I digress, Christmas has been great. Although we are not with our families we have been having a great time with our teammates. The camaraderie within the team has been really great and everyone is happy that we have the opportunity to play in the Alamo Bowl this holiday season.

Practice this morning was filled with Christmas caroling both in the locker room and in warm ups. The O-line came up with remakes on "Mr. Grinch" and "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer." Even though it was Christmas we had a really intense and focused practice. We practiced in the Alamodome so that we could get a feel for what it is going to be like to play in the game. The only downfall of practicing in the Alamo dome was how hot it was in there. The air conditioning was not on and no doors were open so it was extremely muggy in there. Coach Fitz reassured the big men that the AC would be on for the game.

For those of you who are coming down to the game, we can't wait to see you. It seems like more and more Missouri fans are coming down everyday. I am sick of seeing black and gold on the Riverwalk instead of purple. If you are coming down to the game, travel safe and bring a lot of purple. For those of you who can't make it, make sure to turn on ESPN at 7 on Monday night and get ready to cheer your hearts out. Thanks for reading. Go Cats!
