EVANSTON, Ill. -- Four Wildcats earned Big Ten Conference honors, the conference office announced Wednesday. Seniors Jenny Dunn, Laura Janowitsch and Jeanette Lorme were all named to the All-Big Ten second team. Defender Nicole Duller earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. For all three seniors, it marks their first All-Big Ten selections.

Amanda Hoffman received the Big Ten Sportsmanship honor for the Wildcats.

This year marks the 14th-consecutive year Northwestern has placed at least one member on the Big Ten's first and/or second teams. Duller becomes the sixth Wildcat to receive All-Freshman team honors. This is also the first time since 2004 that NU has three All-Big Ten selections.

Dunn has started all 19 games at forward and leads NU with 14 points. She is second on the team with four goals and second on the team with six assists. With 16 assists she sits alone in third place on NU's all-time list. With 50 points for her career, she sits one point behind Shannon Schneeman and Brooke Bell for fourth all-time. She is the 'Cats active leader in goals with 17.

Lorme has been rock-steady in the midfield for the Wildcats this season. She has battled injury to start 14 games and play in 15. She has provided offense at critical times and sits with a goal and three assists. Her one goal was a game-winner.

Janowitsch has started all 19 games as an outside back and has been the veteran leader of the defense. She has shown an offensive touch this season with seven points. She scored NU's first goal of the year, a 50-yard free kick against Nebraska, and netted the game-winner against Pepperdine. She also has two assists. Janowitsch was an All-Freshman selection in 2005.

Duller has started all 19 games as a freshman and has been a solid contributor to NU's back line. NU has placed a defender on the All-Freshman team in three of the past four seasons. Janowitsch and Jakes earned the honor in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

NU faces second-seeded Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament at 10 a.m. Thursday. Gametracker is available via NUsports.com
