EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior guard Craig Moore has been named the co-Big Ten Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday. He averaged 22.5 points, 4 assists and 2.5 steals per game in the Wildcats' two wins last week while setting a pair of records for 3-point shooting.

It is the first such honor of his career and the first time a Northwestern player has earned the honor since Vedran Vukusic Jan. 9, 2006. Moore shares this week's honor with Penn State's Talor Battle.

In Wednesday's 66-48 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Moore became Northwestern's career leader in 3-pointers made when he knocked down the 213th of his career in the first half to best the previous mark of 212 held by Vukusic (2002-06). He finished the contest with 14 points while tying a career high with 6 assists.

Moore then had a career night on Saturday as the Wildcats earned a 73-64 win at Brown. He scored a career-best 31 points while setting a school record with nine made 3-pointers. The effort bested his own previous mark of eight set Feb. 26, 2008 at Michigan.

Eight of the 3-pointers came in the first half on just nine attempts as he put up 24 points prior to the intermission to help NU surge out to a 22-point lead.

Moore leads the Wildcats with averages of 17.3 points, 3.7 assists and 1.67 steals per game so far this season while shooting 58.6 percent from the floor.

At 3-0, Northwestern is off to its best start in 15 seasons and returns to action at 6 p.m. Central time Wednesday when it travels to Indianapolis to face Butler.
