No. 7 Northwestern's Tilt With Evansville Canceled

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- No. 7 Northwestern and Evansville will not get a chance to put two purple teams on the field Thursday night after a mid-day thunderstorm rendered the field too wet for softball with more rain on the way.

The Wildcats instead will head over to Louisville, Ky., for the start of the Women 4 Women Invitational at Louisville. Northwestern opens the event at 2 p.m. CT Friday, March 23 against Louisville, then plays Big Ten foe and ninth-ranked Michigan at 10 a.m. CT Saturday, March 24.

The Wildcats will close the tournament with two games Sunday, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. CT contest against No. 25 California before an 11:30 a.m. CT game against Liberty.
