EVANSTON, Ill. -- After a 1-1 weekend where NU picked up its first Big Ten win of the season -- a 2-0 blanking of Ohio State last Friday -- the 'Cats are set to travel to in-state rival Illinois for their first of three-straight road games.

Last weekend, Shannon Schneeman (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) continued her stellar offensive season with her seventh goal, freshman Jennifer Baumann (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) scored her first career goal and Krystal Patterson (St. Louis, Mo./Shiloh (Ga.)) notched her first tally of the season.

Series With Illinois
NU trails in the all-time series to Illinois 1-8-2. Last year, 18th-ranked Illinois topped the Wildcats 2-0 in Evanston.

Quoting Coach Erickson
"Illinois is a complete soccer team. They are dynamic, organized and inspired," Erickson said. "I feel like we are improving with each game and last weekend's performances against OSU and PSU were excellent preparation for facing a team like Illinois. It's a one-game weekend for us and we are looking forward to playing under the lights and leaving it all out there."

Two Second-Half Goals Propel Wildcats Past Buckeyes, 2-0
Needing a win to get back on track in Big Ten play, the Wildcats came out inspired against Ohio State on Friday and used goals by Shannon Schneeman and Krystal Patterson to top the Buckeyes at Lakeside Field, 2-0. Lauren Johnston (Denver, Colo./Denver East) made four saves -- including a point -- blank stop in the second half--to pick up her second shutout of the season.

No. 11 Penn State Comes Back To Top Northwestern, 3-1
Freshman Jennifer Baumann scored her first career goal to give Northwestern a 1-0 lead in the second half, but 11th-ranked Penn State scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Wildcats Sunday, 3-1. Northwestern held the lead for close to 15 minutes before the Nittany Lions made their charge.

Schneeman is Steamin' Along
Fifth-year senior Shannon Schneeman has saved her best year as a Wildcat for her last. Schneeman is tied for first in the Big Ten with seven goals. Schneeman has already eclipsed her previous career high of five goals and she has set a career high with three game-winning goals. Her three game-winners put her in a tie for first in the conference. Schneeman has 18 goals and 45 points for her career.

J.B. Gets On The Board
Freshman Jennifer Baumann scored her first career goal in NU's 3-1 loss to Penn State on Sunday. Baumann, who has started 12-of-13 games for the Wildcats this season in the midfield, now has four points on a goal and two assists in her freshman season.

Wildcats To Appear Twice on Big Ten Network
Northwestern's women's soccer team will make two regular-season appearances on the new Big Ten Network. The 'Cats' contest at Michigan on Friday, October 19, will air live at 4:30 p.m. CT and NU's home match against Iowa on Sunday, October 28, will air on a delay basis at 7 p.m. Monday, October 29.

Lakeside Field Nearing Completion
Northwestern's new Lakeside Field is nearing completion and now boasts permanent stands and a game operations box with a rooftop camera deck. Home to women's soccer, Lakeside Field already boasts a brand new scoreboard and will contain lights for night games when completed. Both the game operations box and stands are trimmed in Wildcat purple.
