Shaun Herbert Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior wide receiver Shaun Herbert has been named to the 2006 Biletnikoff Award Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.
In 2005, Herbert (Oxon Hill, Md./Bishop McNamara) quietly put together one of the most impressive receiving seasons in school history. He caught 79 passes--fourth most in an NU season--for 862 yards and six TD's. He is one of the most steady and reliable players around and owns the nation's ninth-longest consecutive reception streak (26 games). Herbert also ranks ninth on Northwestern's career receptions list (129) and 11th on the school's career receiving yardage list (1,480).
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., (TQC Foundation), the creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award, is an independent, charitable organization founded in 1994. Over 50 prominent journalists, commentators, announcers, and former players select the winner through a process audited by a CPA firm. The award is presented annually on the ESPN College Awards Show and the TQC Foundation hosts the party at Walt Disney World for the finalists and sponsoring organizations of the many awards presented on ESPN.
The annual awards banquet is held in February in Tallahassee.
