EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head coach Keylor Chan has announced the signing of Sabel Moffett (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) to a National Letter of Intent, bringing the Wildcats' incoming freshman class of 2006 to four.

The 6-0 Moffett was a two-time All-Valley first-team selection, and a Wendy's High School Heisman finalist in the state of California. She led her school to its first-ever CIF-SS Championship in 2003, and to the CIF-SS and state finals in 2004. A two-sport star, Moffett is her school's record-holder in the triple jump and the 100 hurdles.

"I'm truly thrilled with Sabel's decision to join our program," Chan said. "She is one of the most dynamic athletes I will have ever coached. Sabel is one of those special athletes that come along once in a lifetime and I believe she will have a tremendous impact on the volleyball court and within the Northwestern community."

Moffett joins Ariel Baxterbeck (Menlo Park, Calif./Castilleja), Brittani Gray (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) and Kate Nobilio (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) to comprise the class of 2010.
