Postgame Notes:

  • With his first basket a the 16:02 mark in the first half, Vedran Vukusic became the seventh player in 101 years of Wildcat basketball to reach 1,500 points. He finished with 17 points (giving him 1,515 for his career) and is now six points away from tying Jitim Young (2000-04; 1,521 points) for sixth place on NU's all-time scoring list.

  • Northwestern jumped out to a 13-1 lead more than seven minutes into the game. Ohio State did not hit its first field goal until the 11:59 mark of the first half.

  • Down by 15 with 10:39 left in the game, Mohamed Hachad turned it up a notch to score 15 straight Wildcat points, highlighting a 19-6 Northwestern run that cut Ohio State's lead to two, 52-50, with 3:44 left.

  • Hachad connected on a career-high nine field goals and tied a career-high with nine rebounds. He finished with 19 points, one shy of his season-high of 20.

  • Northwestern held the best three-point shooting team in the conference (42 percent) to 13 percent (3-of-23) from behind the arc and 37 percent overall.

  • Vukusic tied his career best with three blocks.

  • Craig Moore, who finished with eight points, has now connected on multiple three-pointers on 15 occasions.

  • NU made just two trips to the free throw line (1-of-2) compared to 18-of-30 for Ohio State.

  • Ohio State remains the only Big Ten team head coach Bill Carmody has not defeated at Northwestern.

  • Bernard Coté finished with six points and six rebounds.
