Bryan Heinz Named to ESPN's All-Mayday Team

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior safety Bryan Heinz (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) has been named to ESPN's All-Mayday team, and will be recognized on one of ESPN's upcoming pregame or halftime shows during its weekend bowl coverage.
The All-Mayday team, chosen by ESPN college football analyst Mark May, honors college players who have shown a tremendous amount of toughness and determination throughout a season and/or career.
After being riddled with injuries the past two seasons, Heinz suffered two different setbacks this season, which prevented him from playing in the season's first 10 games. He came back to play against Ohio State and Illinois, and helped lead the Wildcats to a 27-16 win over the Fighting Illini in the Sweet Sioux Tomahawk Trophy game.
He totaled six tackles, which included a pair of TFL's and a sack, for 2006. Heinz sat out the entire 2005 season with a knee injury, but came back to play in the Sun Bowl game vs. UCLA.
"Bryan Heinz is the epitome of this honor," said head coach Pat Fitzgerald. "He's been an important part of our success the past few years, even when he's been on the sidelines."
