EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern (2-2) returns to the hardwood after the Thanksgiving holiday when they welcome the North Florida Ospreys (1-4) of the Atlantic Sun Conference to Welsh-Ryan Arena at 1 p.m. Saturday. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Five-dollar ($5) 300-level seats are available for this game as we recognize Hometown Heroes Jeff Ryan (Glenview, Ill.) and Jeremy Nash (Chicago, Ill.) throughout the game. Offer valid on the day of the game only. An autograph session with the entire team will follow the game.
The Wildcats have split their first four games of the season, recording home wins over DePaul and most recently Brown Tuesday night. In that game, Tim Doyle scored a game-high 17 points and tied his career-highs with eight assists and eight field goals (8-of-12). Freshman Kevin Coble and Jason Okrzesik had hot hands for the Wildcats as NU opened a 36-18 halftime lead and never looked back. Coble and Okrzesik had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Ospreys, meanwhile, are 1-4 on the season, winning their only game against Concordia (N.Y.) 77-72 before dropping their first three games of the season at St. John's, Loyola (Md.) and Florida. UNF dropped a 59-44 decision to the Florida Atlantic Owls Wednesday night before heading to Evanston. Rashad Williams led the Ospreys with 12 points in the loss.
