EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's men's tennis team wraps up the weekend by facing No. 15 Wake Forest at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. The Wildcats, who are 3-3 on the season, look to rebound from their 5-2 loss to No. 31 North Carolina Friday by earning their first-ever win over the Demon Deacons Sunday.

The Wildcats enter the match after a loss at North Carolina, despite some admirable individual performances.

At No. 1 singles, Christian Tempke (Wentorf, Germany/Gymnasium Lohbrügge) proved he can play with anyone in the country by upsetting the Tarheels' fifth-ranked Raian Luchici 7-5, 3-6 (11-9). Tempke now stands at 10-6 this season.

The other Wildcat win came from junior Willy Lock (Lima, Peru/Markham College), who notched a win over UNC's Brad Pomeroy at No. 2 singles 6-4, 7-5 (7). Lock evened his season record at 5-5 with the win.

Wake Forest enters the match after notching a pair of 7-0 wins versus East Carolina and Tennessee State Saturday in its season-opening action. Individually, three Demon Deacons are ranked top-100 in singles, including junior Todd Paul at No. 11, junior Andrew Hamar at No. 35 and senior Brett Ross at No. 77.
