Kelsey Hans Tabbed Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern forward Kelsey Hans (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville) was tabbed the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her weekend performance at the 2005 Wildcat Classic. The sophomore recorded four goals and two assists en en route to the first weekly honor of her career.
Hans was the driving force behind NU's 3-2 overtime victory against Oakland Friday night, as she tallied two goals and dished out one assist. Her shot as seconds were running down in overtime set up the game-winning rebound by teammate Tabitha Lowey (Peachtree City, Ga./Mcintosh).
Hans matched her productivity the following game, scoring twice and tallying one assist in the Wildcats' 3-0 shutout against Davidson on Sunday.
With the four goals, Hans now moves up to third on Northwestern's individual career scoring records list. She has 19 goals on her career, which ties her with Ashleigh Garmon (2001-04), Katie Hertz (1998-01) and Dionna Latimer (1995-98). The last time the conference gave an NU women's soccer player the weekly honor was on Sept. 30, 2003 when Molly Greene was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
