Seacat Helps Big Ten Touring Team In Spain

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior Evan Seacat played with the Big Ten Foreign Touring Team in Spain. The Wildcats senior guard averaged 7.6 points per game as the Big Ten team went 2-3 in five game played Aug. 13-18 -- losing to Huesca Saturday and VIC Barcelona Monday, rebounding to defeat Alcora Tuesday night and Pamesa Valencia Wednesday, and then falling to C.B. Valls in the tour finale Thursday.
In Saturday's opener against Huesca, last year's Spanish Third Division champion, the Big Ten team fell under a barrage of three-point shots, 143-117. Huesca showed its long-range capabilities with 21 treys on the night. In that game, Seacat dropped 12 points and was one of six Big Ten players to reach double digits.
Monday night, Seacat had nine points and dished out a team-high six assists in a 110-104 Big Ten loss to VIC Barcelona.
Tuesday night, Seacat had two points, three assists and two steals in the Big Ten's 99-82 win over Alcora. He them followed that up with arguably his best performance in Wednesday night's 82-66 victory against Pamesa Valencia, knocking down 15 points (on five three-pointers) and adding three assists.
C.B. Valls was able to defeat the Big Ten team, 87-83, Thursday night to conclude the tour. Seacat finished that game with a team-high seven assists.
