Four Wildcats Earn CFN Preseason Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Four Northwestern players -- offensive tackle Zach Strief, defensive end Loren Howard, defensive tackle Barry Cofield and linebacker Tim McGarigle -- have received preseason recognition from collegefootballnews.com (CFN).
Howard, who is bouncing back from an injury-riddled 2004 season, garnered preseason honorable mention All-America honors and was ranked the nation's No. 7 defensive end.
Strief, Cofield and McGarigle were all named to CFN's preseason All-America Watch List at their respective positions. Strief was ranked the No. 11 offensive tackle, while Cofield and McGarigle were listed No. 23 and 25, respectively, at the defensive tackle and linebacker positions.
Northwestern is less than two weeks away from the start of preseason camp, with the first practice slated for Monday, Aug. 8.
