EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior Tommy Hanus (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) and sophomore Christian Tempke (Wentorf, Germany/Lohbrugge) have earned their way onto the 2005 all-Big Ten team -- the first Wildcats to do so since 2001. It is the first such honor for both Hanus and Tempke.
Northwestern is one of only three schools to have more than one player selected to the team -- Ohio State joined the Wildcats with two, while Illinois had six unanimous selections to the 12-man team.
Hanus and Tempke are head coach Paul Torricelli's first all-conference winners since Brad Erickson in 2001. It is also the first time two or more `Cats have made team since Alex Witt and Marc Silva earned the honor together in 1997.
