
Day Two of NCAA Championships Complete

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Northwestern's three participants were in action Friday at the NCAA Championships hosted by Purdue, with freshman Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) narrowly missing the finals in the 200 free.
Hupman finished 18th in the event with a time of 1:47.49 in the preliminaries, just .15 seconds away from qualifying for the finals.
Also competing Friday were seniors Brielle Bovee (Winter Park, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) and Christy Olin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West).
Bovee finished the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.26 while Olin completed the 100 butterfly in 55.87. Neither swimmer qualified for the finals.
The Championships conclude Saturday and all three NU swimmers will again be in action. Hupman will swim the 100 free while Olin will compete in the 200 fly and Bovee will take part in the 200 breast.
