
Two 'Cats Garner All-America Honors

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Senior Christy Olin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) and freshman Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) earned honorable mention All-America honors Saturday during the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships.
Hupman finished 14th in the 100 free while Olin was 16th in the 200 fly. Combined they gave Northwestern four points, good for a tie for 36th place.
Hupman swam a 49.04 in the prelims to finish ninth, just missing the championship heat by .06 seconds. She was only .02 seconds away from setting a school record. Hupman swam a 49.73 in the finals.
Olin qualified for the finals with a time of 1:59.47 in the preliminary heat. She then swam a 2:00.54 in the finals.
Senior Brielle Bovee (Winter Park, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) was also in action Saturday, swimming the 200 breast. She did not advance to the championship heats.
