EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern brings its 4-1 record to Cambridge, Mass. this Sunday for a Noon match against Harvard.
The match will be the first of the spring for The Crimson, who have not seen competition since late October when they swept the competition at the Wilson/ITA Eastern Regional hosted by Virginia Tech.
At the Regional, Harvard seniors Martin Wetzel and Jason Beren knocked off teammates, fellow senior Jonathan Chu and freshman Ashwin Kumar, 8-6 to claim the doubles tournament title.
Chu faced off against Wetzel in the singles final, as well. Chu defaulted to Wetzel, giving him the victory and the automatic berth to the ITA National Indoor Championships. Chu had already earned his berth after reaching the quarterfinals of the Icy Hot All-America Tournament in early fall.
Northwestern is coming off a huge victory over 18th-ranked North Carolina, claiming two of three doubles matches before winning four of six in the singles competition for an overall 5-2 win.
The Wildcats will return home next Saturday, February 12 for a Noon match against Big Ten foe Wisconsin.
