EL PASO, Texas -- One of Wednesday's Vitalis Sun Bowl highlights was a visit by more than 40 Northwestern players to the Sierra Providence Memorial Children Hospital.

The Wildcats, who were accompanied by head coach Randy Walker, helped brighten the faces of many young people -- many of whom have serious illnesses.

"What I feel when we're on a trip like this is you feel grateful for what you have, for the most part," said Malcolm Arrington. "You try not to go into here feeling too sad because your pity's not going to help these kids with their recovery."

Earlier in the day, the Wildcats concluded their bowl practices with a closed session at Socorro Athletic Complex.
