EL PASO, Texas -- Northwestern practiced for the third straight day in preparation for its showdown with No. 17 UCLA in the 72nd annual Sun Bowl this Friday. Tuesday's practice featured another 14-period session in warm and sunny conditions at the Socorro Athletic Complex.

Before anyone was thinking football, both Northwestern and UCLA had `Breakfast With the Troops' at Fort Bliss here in El Paso. The teams met and chatted with members of the U.S. Armed Forces over a typical military breakfast. The troops are training at Fort Bliss before they depart and begin service in Iraq.

Following practice, several members of the Northwestern travel party visited the Lucchese Boot Factory. The Wildcats' evening entertainment was a holiday dinner at the El Paso Country Club, followed by a performance from a magician.

Northwestern will hold its final full practice Wednesday, before taking part in a brief walk-through at Sun Bowl Stadium Thursday morning.
