EL PASO, Texas - Northwestern's football team started its Holiday celebration with a two-hour practice Saturday morning at the Sorocco Athletic Complex in El Paso, Texas. The Wildcats knocked off any travel weariness with a spirited workout in temperatures over 60 degrees.
With players and coaches wearing shorts for the first time outside in quite some time, spirits were enthusiastic throughout the practice.
In the afternoon, the entire football team spent a little time across the border in Mexico. The football travel party visited the city of Juarez, Mexico -- a city of 2 million located right across the border. A majority of the time was spent in the city's central market, purchasing sombreros, blankets, Mexican wrestling masks, belts and trinkets.
NU will not practice on Sunday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day), but will begin its Bowl Week preparations at 10 a.m. (MST) Monday morning.
