Florida Invitational Tournament Canceled Due to Hurricane Frances

EVANSTON, Ill. - 'Rain, rain, go away,' has to be the feeling right now for the Northwestern volleyball team. Their season-opening tournament, scheduled to take place at the University of Florida, was canceled today due to the approaching hurricane in the southeast portion of the nation.
NU's scheduled flight tomorrow morning would have gone smoothly, but with Hurricane Frances expected to hit Florida early Sunday, the 'Cats return trip would have been jeopardized.
NU coaches and staff are currently trying to set up a weekend tournament in Evanston that could possibly feature Florida, TCU, Illinois and a few other possible schools.
Once information is finalized, a weekend schedule will be published on NUsports.com.
