Fan Advisory: Plan To Arrive Early on Wednesday

EVANSTON, Ill. - In an effort to better serve our fans, the Northwestern Athletic Department now opens Welsh-Ryan Arena 90 minutes prior to all men's basketball home games. This Wednesday's game with Iowa will tip off at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30. A limited number of tickets are still available through NUsports.com or by calling the ticket office at 847-491-CATS.
Traffic around Welsh-Ryan Arena is expected to be heavier than normal due to the expected crowd and game time's proximity to late rush hour. Fans are invited to enjoy dinner at our concession stands, which will also open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
CTA, Metra, and Pace all provide service to Welsh Ryan Arena!
CTA: The CTA Purple Line from downtown Chicago stops at Central Street, where you can either connect to the westbound #201 CTA bus that stops a block from the arena or walk three blocks west on Central Street to NU's football stadium, Ryan Field -- Welsh-Ryan Arena is directly north of Ryan Field.
Metra: The Metra Union Pacific North Line from downtown Chicago and Kenosha, Wis. stops at Central Street, where you may also connect to the eastbound #201 CTA bus that stops a block from the arena or walk three blocks east on Central to NU's football stadium, Ryan Field -- Welsh-Ryan Arena is directly north of Ryan Field.
Pace: Pace route #213 runs along Green Bay Road and connects with five other Pace routes, and also stops at Central Street.

The Northwestern Athletic Department continues to urge fans to arrive as early as possible to all games to help avoid long lines entering our parking lots (off of Central Street immediately east of Ryan Field, and also west of Ryan Field/Welsh-Ryan off of Ashland Avenue) and at our lobby ticket windows.
