THE BAHAMAS -- Northwestern faced Youngstown State Friday night in the Bahamas as part of the Wildcats' Holiday training trip, defeating the Penguins 104-61 in a nine-event dual meet.
Due to computer error, meet results with exact times are not immediately accessible and will be posted as soon as they become available.
With the event taking place as part of a training trip, many of the events were atypical. Senior Christy Olin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) finished first in the 50 Kick and the 200 Fin Kick events. Senior Shuyan Phua (Singapore/Raffles Junior College) earned the victory in the 400 Free Pull and junior Katie Paglini (Chicago, Ill./Latin School) won the 200 IM.
The Wildcats also came out on top in all five 200-yard relays: the 200 Breast, Back, Free, Fly and Medley events.
"We swam pretty well," NU Head Coach Jimmy Tierney said. "The meet was very non-traditional with only nine events and a lot of relays. I was happy with how we performed."
Northwestern's dual record improves to 3-2 on the season. The Wildcats will return to action Jan. 8 at home against Tennessee.
