Wildcats Begin 2004-05 Season in Alaska

FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- Northwestern's 2004-05 men's basketball season begins Friday night at the Top of the World Classic, an eight-team tournament hosted by the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

The Wildcats, who are returning four starters from a year ago, open tournament play versus the University of Portland at 9 p.m. CT. Other teams participating in this year's event are Western Michigan, New Mexico State, UCF, Georgia Southern, Utah State and the host Nanooks.
